Do you wear slippers around the house? If yes, what do they look like?

Do you want to play a game?

This game is pretty simple. Would you bite, lick, kick or hug the person who commented before you? If you wish to you can do multiple things. :)

To get us started... what are you going to do to me?

What song makes you sad and angry at the same time?

Today I Realized

  • Dec. 3rd, 2009 at 6:52 AM
Today I realized that I'm moving out, for real this time. No coming back, no looking back. I'm out that door and I'm gone five hours away.
I only need two people in my life during this time. It's you and my cat. You won't talk to me cause I'm moving out and I can't bring my cat with me cause my mom doesn't want me to.
...I'm not sure if I can handle being on my own this time.

inappropriate terminology or oversensitive?

  • Dec. 3rd, 2009 at 12:21 PM
Just had a conversation with someone who was full of indignant rage as during a sales meeting after one of the directors refered to some figures as being a "total abortion"

i had to explain that although the word has a certain association around it, it does actually have another meaning, he debated this till we actually brought up the dictionary definition

my question is

Is this word now deemed totally inappropriate due to the association surrounding it for anything other than the medical proceedure?

I'm in charge of preparing a session about stereotypes regarding Scouts (as in boy scouts) and Guides.
Can you tell me some bad or good stereotypes about them? Even if you don't agree with them, the more the merrier.

THANKS.

Imagine this situation, what would you do?

You are absolutely in love with your SO, but you can neither picture them as your married partner nor parent to your future kids. and you doubt that these feelings will change.

example questions to think about/answer: Is there a point to the relationship? Would you tell them? Should you save your time and break up with them?

What do you do to make money online?

I do swagbucks, youdata (sucks...I think I've made all of $2.00 in a month), and pinecone research. What else is out there? I'm not making nearly enough to pay for Christmas presents yet...

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard
to get poor Rover a bone
When she bent over
Rover took over and
Gave her a bone of his own.

Did you hear Humpty Dumpty doesn't fall off the wall anymore?
He has his girlfriend up there. He knocks her off instead.

Did you change the words of nursery rhymes or make jokes about the characters?
I see him there, sitting at the desk directly in front of the teacher's desk, on the right side.

Kunga was the only monk in the class, and he was the one who laughed the hardest, longest, and highest.

His peals of laughter would continue well after everyone else had quieted down, and we'd often start laughing again, just laughing at how he hard and high he laughed.

His English was bad, and he knew it, but he still came to class. He always smiled, even if he hadn't done his homework. The whole world is a joke to him, I think; he is so easy-going and finds humor in everything, even my terrible jokes in simple English!

He recently joined facebook and requested my friendship. While chatting with him tonight, he asked for a picture of my parents, so I sent him two pictures of my parents when they were young. Upon seeing my mom's picture, he said "this is very nice picture of u!" I laughed and told him it was my mother, when she was 18. "I thought it was u! so same looking!" Then, at one point, an "ooohhhhh god" popped up on my screen. I can hear him saying it, putting his palm across his face with his bare arm, the right one, that monks have outside their robe. It is always followed by a peal of chest-heaving, high-pitched, school-girl laughter.

"Gen lak i think it is really late in usa"

Oh, it's 2 in the morning; not that late!

"Gen lak u must try some sleep
if u stay like this every time
it is not good for ur health
i heard like this suggestion from doctor"

My students were so amazing, so kind. I didn't think I would miss each and every one of them, for whatever dynamic they brought to the class.

I can see Kunga's eyes widening at my admission of insomnia, which I have to translate (and secretly hopes he remembers). He shakes his head in a disproving, American manner, imitating me.

Then he laughs, and his laughter echoes.

What's ruining your life? What are you doing about it?

"That is why it is magic."

  • Dec. 3rd, 2009 at 1:43 AM

I fell in love with a magician.
His hair was as white as the sails of a ship.
He had an elephant.
He saved my life.
I haven't seen him in years, but when I sat on his lap, the world came to a halt.

Halp, AMA! Diagnose my kitteh!

So a couple of days ago I noticed that my kitty's belly seemed a little flabbier than usual. Upon closer inspection I realized that it is WAY flabbier. She's normally pretty trim, and all of this flabbiness is new. I've felt her floppy little belly and there are no masses. It also does not feel like fat. Honestly it looks like a cyst that isn't super full yet (ewwwww). She is about 9 years old, strictly indoors, and had 1 litter of kittens when she was about 3. Do any of you have an idea about what might be going on? Simply a cyst or something else?

We are taking her to the vet tomorrow at 9, but I'm pretty freaked out!

handmade christmas gifts

  • Dec. 2nd, 2009 at 10:11 PM
So my boyfriend and I usually make each other gifts (last year he made me a frame and I made him a sock creature). This year I was just planning on buying him something, but I found out he's making me something and that it's going to cost around $40-50.

Should I stay with my original plan and buy him something? Or should I make him something? What?
